kowai2kawaii:

It was an awesome weekend. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by even though we weren’t as easy to find as we hoped.

Come catch us at Evercon in Wheatridge, CO in April! We’ll be posting more information about it in the next few days as we get new stuff ready.

Want to see us at other conventions? Stop by our Etsy store after Wednesday and buy our remaining stock from Wasabi. All the funds will go to con tables and transportation.

Wasabi 2014 was a lot of fun this year! They had a new head of operations and the hotel was much more friendly to everyone this year. Things were still hectic but I was able to actually enjoy some panels and hang out with friends after room closed for the first time in years!

Ugh shipping has been coming up a lot lately AMERICAN FRIENDS WHO RUN ONLINE STORES PLEASE THINK ABOUT YOUR SHIPPING FEES TO CANADA. IT DOES COST MORE TO SEND TO US, BUT… NOT. THAT. MUCH.

International shipping sucks though! I could send my packages to the US(from Canada) for as low as $8 per package but that’s for non tracked, non insured, 3 to 5 weeks ground shipping which is really really scary cause if it gets lost it’s lost forever no refunds. Tracked, $100 insurance, 5-10 days airmail starts at $16.65. For insurance higher than $100 you have to go with expedited parcel which starts at $25 or so.

So if I’m shipping anything worth over $100 to the states it’s at least $25 in shipping(plus packing supplies). Same package within Canada? $15 packing supplies included. So yeah there is a huge difference.

Of course this is from a Canadian viewpoint, but I can’t imagine it’s that different for our US buddies.

Jesus Christ is just for dolls?

I’m just super irrittated that people are charging upwards of $10-$15 for shipping prints, so like flat things often less than 8.5x11. I’m certain it can’t possibly cost this much. I ordered a book from the states once and they charged me $10 shipping and the number on the envelope told me they spent $3 sending it. I hope they didn’t spend $7 on a brown paper envelope.

I was excited about ordering 12 4x6 photo paper prints and zazzle.ca was charging $20 shipping!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 WITHIN CANADA, THERE IS NO WAY THEY ARE PAYING THAT MUCH UNLESS IT’S EXPRESS

I haven’t had to ship to Canada yet, but my VERY FIRST SALE for my group Etsy shop was to Germany and we didn’t understand anything about customs or international shipping and we only charged the girl $4 to send her a coloring book. After estimating the shipping WITH TRACKING in a flat 9”x12” bubble packet it came out to $18 and once it left the states we didn’t hear anything about where it was for two months until the girl let us know that it just arrived. 2 months, 4 days after she ordered the thing. So we lost $10 in the process (the book itself is only worth $4) and it took forever to get there and both our shop and the customer was on edge waiting for this thing.

Futhermore, that shipping was discounted through Etsy because they have bulk shipping.

We’re still constantly adjusting our shipping prices every sale because new stupid things keep popping up and acting really stupid. It is especially frustrating.

I’m starting to set up the Kowai-Kawaii blog for Wasabi2013, and here’s the portrait for Wasabi’s participants!
Kowai-Kawaii’s icon now features just crystalblackrose and myself, as our two other members are unable to attend Wasabi this year due to bad scheduling/timing. u_u I myself wasn’t able to know if I was going to attend until practically last week, so preparations for the convention are in overhaul.
Go and follow Kowai-Kawaii to see our updates and progress through Wasabicon this year!

Group IDs! If you see a girl with one of these on at Wasabi, it’s one of us!

I drew the chibis, and LittleSardines did the typography.
